Here at Music from Alpha, we’re very excited to introduce our first three releases, coming from very distinct bands, each with that special something we love so much.
Taken together, these initial releases mark the beginning of a catalogue defined not by uniformity, but by contrast and discovery—three separate works, each contributing to the strong identity and vision of our label.
Last man on Earth
The debut Ep by our very own Cats from Alpha
Originally released in 2011 as a self-produced recording, this remarkable collection has been brought back exactly as it was first conceived, using the original mixes in all their raw, unfiltered brilliance.
Blending the melodic richness of classic rock with exploratory tones and DIY attitude, their music combines psychedelic color and indie rock drive with experimental textures.
Recorded with vintage equipment and guided by cat instinct rather than convention, their songs reflect the wonder, confusion, and fragile beauty of life on this planet.
Last man on Earth is now available on vinyl for the first time. It’s also available on CD, streaming, and download.
It plays like a document—part diary, part transmission.
Within its grooves you can find echoes of distant stars and voices searching for meaning, with sounds both familiar and strangely displaced. It is at once intimate and expansive.
Earthbound… yet not entirely.

Cats from Alpha is a collective whose sound combines styles ranging from Beatles-influenced psychedelia to alternative rock, american folk, and experimental music. Their unique mix of vintage gear, mad sounds, and lyrics that deal with the struggle of understanding life on this planet creates a melancholic yet powerful mood. They released three EPs and two albums to universal acclaim, though, amazingly, they are still largely unknown on planet Earth to this day.
Kernel
The last album recorded by the RavenMasters
The story of Kernel begins in 2005. What started as a simple recording session slowly became something else entirely: a project revisited, reshaped, dismantled, and rebuilt again and again. Kernel stands as the last album the RavenMasters recorded together.
The central theme of Kernel emerges clearly across both its artwork and its music: a dialogue between soul and technology, between human imperfection and mechanical precision. Long before artificial intelligence became part of everyday discourse, the RavenMasters were already exploring a similar tension—how organic expression and digital processes can coexist, collide, and ultimately shape one another.
There were setbacks—songs replaced, lyrics rewritten, sounds reimagined. An album that changed form again and again. At times, it seemed the record might never see the light of day.
And yet—here it is.
Twenty years since the very first session and ten years after its last release, Music from Alpha is pleased to present Kernel on vinyl for the first time. It is also available on CD, streaming, and download.
The RavenMasters were an Italian indie band formed by lead vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Gio, keyboardist and vocalist Mirko Zenari, and drummer Sebastiano Manfroi.
Known for their eclectic and genre-blending sound, the band combined classic rock instrumentation – guitar, bass, drums, and vocals – with an array of additional textures, including strings, horns, samplers, vintage keyboards, synthesizers, and drum machines.
The RavenMasters fused elements of lo-fi, garage rock, new wave, Motown and Stax soul, classical music, and experimental sounds, creating a unique and recognizable style.
Their songs have been featured in a variety of television shows, series, and mainstream films.
The RavenMasters released three full-length albums – Pop Sounds, Kernel, and Arte Povera – as well as an EP titled Do Not Forget.
Dead Man Watching
The eponymous debut release by Dead Man Watching
For the first time ever on vinyl, the 2007 debut EP from Dead Man Watching has been carefully reissued using the original mixes, exactly as they were recorded. What remains is an unfiltered document of a band finding its voice—intimate, reflective, and enduring.
Rooted in alternative folk and indie rock, their music carries the weight of tradition while remaining deeply personal and understated. Their sound draws from a wide spectrum of influences, blending poetic songwriting, melancholic tones, and atmospheric arrangements.
Expect fingerpicked guitars and slow-burning melodies, reverb-soaked electric textures, vintage keyboards, and unconventional arrangements, along with vocals that feel close, fragile, and immediate.
Dead Man Watching is not a loud record that demands attention. It lingers.
Each song unfolds patiently, revealing layers of emotion and memory—capturing moments that feel as fleeting as they are permanent.
Dead Man Watching blends alt-folk, alt-country, british rock and west coast slowcore to create a distinctive style all their own. Far from the noise of the music industry, they write and self-produce heartfelt and introspective songs that resonate with both emotional depth and sonic nostalgia.
They released two EPs (“Dead Man Watching” and “Dead Man Is Coming to Town) and a full length (Love, come on!). Their songs have been featured in movies and tv series.
